Structured Cabling

The structured cable is the only one that needs to be installed to contend with the needs of telephone and data communications now and in the future. It is a system that provides a very "structured" approach to the entire cabling system: a single-mixed media network that handles all information traffic, like voice, data, video, and even big complex building management systems. In brief, it could be described as a system that comprises a set of transmission products, applied with engineering design rules that allow the user to apply voice, data, and signals in a manner to maximize data rates.

Structured cabling divides the entire infrastructure into manageable blocks and then attempts to integrate these blocks to produce the high-performance networks that we have now come to rely on.
To the user, this means investment protection. In addition to investment protection, structured cabling also provides administrative and management capabilities. All cables originating from the different work locations are terminated on a passive centralized cross-connect in the network room. Simple labeling and coloring mechanisms provide for easy and quick identification of work outlets.

The Advantages of Structured Cabling:

  • Consistency - A structured cabling system, means the same cabling systems for Data, voice and video.
  • Support for multi-vendor equipment – A standard-based cable system will support applications and hardware even with mix & match vendors.
  • Simplify moves/adds/changes – Structured cabling systems can support any changes within the systems.
  • Simplify troubleshooting – With structured cabling systems, problems are less likely to down the entire network, easier to isolate and easier to fix.
  • Support for future applications – Structured cabling system supports future applications like multimedia, video conferencing etc. with little or no upgrade pain.
  • Ip Telephony Systems

The IPPBX is a telephony system that uses the same protocol, office computers run on. It can integrate the conventional phone with and VOIP users that can be SIP Phones, Soft Phones, PDAs, Video Conferencing, etc.

The system can switch calls between local network, cellular operators and international calls with a single internet connection. Acquiring an IPPBX is a smart decision to improve the usage of your data networks and reduce your phone bills.

A few of the most common questions I ask to determine if VoIP will benefit you:

    1. Do you have multiple locations? Many of my larger customers that have multiple locations enjoy VoIP solutions because with VoIP you can connect all your offices as if they are on one network.. Today, with VoIP, employees are all extensions on the same network as if we are all in the same office!.
    2. Do you make a lot of long distance? Long distance has gotten so cheap: Skype, Gmail, and Others.
    3. Are you in multiple markets or do you want to be? One of the neatest things about VoIP is how you can deliver phone numbers from many markets on one circuit.
    4. Do you have many mobile workers? Most of our company's workforce is mobile meaning our employees are rarely in the office. The nice part about VoIP is being able to go mobile from either a laptop client (software built into your laptop that imitates your desk phone at work), or having a VoIP phone at home or your remote office. In any of these situations you are still able to make calls from your desk phone despite not being in the office.
